“The Phantom of the Opera” Concert by Candlelight

The famous The Phantom of the Opera will be performed in Ashkelon by the light of hundreds of candles.

A concert version of one of the most famous musicals in history will be performed by soloists from the Israeli Opera in the original language, accompanied by a string quintet and grand piano.

The Phantom of the Opera is a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on the novel of the same name by French author Gaston Leroux. The show has been staged in 151 cities across 30 countries and seen by more than 150 million people. The plot tells the story of the talented singer Christine Daaé, who becomes the object of obsession for a mysterious, disfigured musical genius. It is a story about the power of true love and how even the hardest heart can become kinder and gentler.

The concert in Ashkelon will give audiences the opportunity to experience the dark and beautiful story of the mystical “Angel of Music,” while hundreds of burning candles create an extraordinary atmosphere. Talented musicians will recreate and bring to life the grotesque atmosphere of mid-19th-century Paris, where the novel’s tragic events unfold.
