Some artists leave no one indifferent: their work is closely followed, they are admired, and people passionately debate them. Yet few can evoke such emotions for so many years. Khazanov has been doing so for decades—more precisely, for over half a century. A master of the variety comedy genre, whose monologues make different generations both laugh and think; a symbol of satire that has outlived its era while embodying it.
At the beginning of next year, Gennady Khazanov will hold three major creative evenings in Israel. On January 26, he will take the stage in Rishon LeZion; on January 28, he will perform in Netanya; and on January 30, the maestro will meet with the residents of Ashdod.
Memories and reflections, beloved comic routines and inimitable intonations—the program will include everything we value in the work of this great artist, as well as things he has never shared with the public before.
