At the end of 2025, official Russian authorities ordered the complete removal from circulation and burning of Eduard Topol’s books throughout Russia. The immediate reason for the persecution was the author’s uncompromising position, expressed in the book The Criminal Kremlin: From Lenin to Putin, as well as his outspoken criticism of the Kremlin’s foreign policy.

This circumstance led to the creation of a new concert program, The Criminal Kremlin and Other Astonishing Stories, with which the renowned novelist, playwright, and screenwriter plans to tour cities throughout Israel.

After completing his demanding novel, Eduard Topol is once again returning to direct dialogue with his audience. The new interactive program will be a living continuation of his literary work and a response to the banning of his books in Russia.

During the evening, the author will discuss what usually remains behind the scenes of major political investigations and bestselling works of fiction. He will also share memories of astonishing people whom fate brought into his life over decades of journalistic and literary work—from party officials and dissidents to international stars and criminal authorities.

Questions may be asked during the performance, and Eduard Topol will answer them.

At the end of the evening, you will have the opportunity to purchase The Criminal Kremlin: From Lenin to Putin, as well as other books signed by the author.
