An Andalusian music performance with young singers and paytanim from Morocco and Israel. The date and location were not specified; the performance will take place at the Center for Andalusian Culture and Piyyut in Israel.
Five leading singers from Morocco’s younger generation, led by artist Anas Belhachmi, and five young, promising paytanim from the Center for Andalusian Culture in Israel meet on one stage for a performance dedicated to the new voices of Andalusian music.
Singing in Hebrew and Arabic, with a live musical dialogue between Jewish and Muslim traditions, ancient roots meet a young and innovative spirit. Alongside works from the Andalusian tradition and contemporary arrangements, the shared cultural richness woven over generations among communities, languages, and cultures around the Mediterranean is revealed.
This is a meeting between a new generation of singers and paytanim, giving a new voice to a magnificent Andalusian tradition and jointly tracing the features of the new nuba.
