A sacred Jewish music concert as part of the Hope Project, October 26, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center in Ashdod. Featuring the Andalusian Orchestra and the Jerusalem Piyyut Ensemble.
The Hope Project highlights the ability of sacred Jewish music to offer comfort and hope.
The project is taking place for the third time this year, commemorating the events of October 7, and presents 11 concerts by 13 orchestras over 7 days in 9 communities across the country. The project was initiated by Sharon Azrieli and the Azrieli Foundation. Its aim is to inspire unity and allow music to envelop the community through a rich musical tapestry spanning times and places: Western classical music, synagogue baroque, contemporary Israeli music, Israeli light music, Andalusian music, piyyut and prayer from North Africa and Spain, and more. The sounds create a whole greater than the sum of its parts: sacred Jewish music. Against the backdrop of deep rupture, we seek to draw on the healing qualities of music and offer the possibility of healing and renewed hope.
This year, the Israeli Andalusian Orchestra of Ashdod will host the Jerusalem Piyyut Ensemble.
