Cultural Competence and Traditional Mediation

Creating a Common Language and Tools for Life in a Diverse Community

Every day, we encounter people from different backgrounds, cultures, and faiths—in the workplace, in our neighborhood, in the education system, in public services, and in our families.

But… how do we bridge gaps? How can we prevent misunderstandings before they become conflicts? And how can we turn diversity into a source of connection?

We will embark on a fascinating journey into the world of traditional mediation and cultural competence, and discover practical tools for creating better communication, building trust, and fostering respectful dialogue between individuals and communities.

We will explore:

• What cultural competence is and why it is essential in Israeli society
• Combining the principles of traditional mediation and the wisdom embedded in Jewish traditions and the Ethiopian community with professional mediation in Israel
• Strengthening the ability to deal with conflicts in the family and community

The workshop is intended for anyone interested in acquiring tools for shared life in a diverse society.
