Leonid Kanevsky is a renowned theater and film actor whose name, voice, and unique style have long been recognized by millions of viewers. Most of his career has been connected with Israel: in 1990, he moved to Israel and became one of the founders of the Gesher Theater. On its stage, Kanevsky appeared in numerous roles in productions such as The Idiot, Adam — Son of a Bitch, The Village, The City: Odessa Stories, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Slave, and many others.

Basinia Shulman is an outstanding pianist, winner of numerous international competitions, who has performed at renowned concert venues around the world. Her artistic partners include Yuri Bashmet, Vadim Repin, Eduard Artemyev, Boris Berezovsky, and other celebrated musicians. She is also the initiator and creator of musical-theatrical projects in which music, literature, and drama intertwine.

The unique talent and charisma of Leonid Kanevsky, combined with the virtuoso playing of pianist Basinia Shulman, will come together in the exclusive project The Investigation Continues….

The audience will experience a double immersion into the mysteries of history and human nature.

Act One: “A Record of Special Purpose”

A musical-historical multimedia production based on a mysterious episode from the life of the great 20th-century pianist Maria Yudina, who, in the midst of the war, recorded a unique record of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 in a single night, exclusively for Joseph Stalin.

This recording led to a series of truly mystical events…

Leonid Kanevsky and Basinia Shulman will open the archives of the past, allowing the great music of Mozart, Bach, Shostakovich, and Prokofiev to illuminate the true motives behind the events.

Act Two: “The Mystery of Laughing Words”

This time, the case concerns human weaknesses and peculiarities, curious incidents, serious feelings, and unexpected actions that have no statute of limitations.

Leonid Kanevsky and Basinia Shulman will conduct their own literary-musical investigation, turning to humorous stories by Anton Chekhov, Nadezhda Teffi, and Yevgeny Petrov: what lies behind the funny words and situations, why, decades later, we recognize ourselves in their characters, and what truly makes us laugh?

The word will serve as a witness, music will be the key to the solution, and refined humor will help reveal what the characters may be trying to hide even from themselves.

And this investigation will never end…
