Reading Sessions – A Workshop to Encourage and Improve Reading with the Help of Dogs
With Sharon Cohen from therapeutic dog handling.
During the workshop, we will encourage reading by having children read stories aloud to dogs. Each session will include:
- Reading a story
- An experiential or creative activity related to the book, together with dogs
- Building confidence in reading
- Expanding knowledge and vocabulary
- Encouraging conversation and connecting with the world of dogs
The workshop will take place in small groups of up to 7 children.
Suitable for children from kindergarten through 4th grade, in age-specific groups.
A series consists of four sessions, organized by age group. Each session lasts 45 minutes. Registration for multiple series is possible. Each session will focus on a different book.
