The Ashdod Museum of Art is opening a new group of exhibitions offering a multidisciplinary perspective on contemporary Israeli art.
Hadas Set, winner of the 2021 Nira, wife of Yaakov, Makov Israel Prize, presents the exhibition “Joy in Repetition.” This is Set’s first museum exhibition. She has been active in the Israeli art scene for the past two decades.
Painter Amit Kabesa will present a solo exhibition curated by Yael Katz Ben Shalom, “When I’m Not Painting, I Go Digging.” Kabesa presents a new body of work revealing a fascinating turning point in his practice: large-scale abstract painting offering an immersive experience of color, material, and space.
Alongside these exhibitions, a selection of video works from the museum’s collection will be displayed. These works were shown at the museum during the previous decade in various exhibitions and sought to reveal central processes in contemporary Israeli culture.
