Visit the permanent exhibition "The World of the Philistines" and the exhibition "Seam Line: Anthropology of Fashion"
An exhibition examining the everyday question "What to wear?", which contains within it decisions about appearance, belonging, and non-verbal communication. Ashdod, as a multi-vocal city, is a distinct space for these contexts. Its multiple communities carry with them distinctive dress codes that are absorbed and meet in public space. "Seam Line" is integrated into a broader dialogue led by the Museum of Philistine Culture with material culture. Fashion researchers and visual cultures, designers, costume designers, street photographers, and multidisciplinary artists were invited to the curatorial work, illuminating different aspects of dress culture: the dressed, thoughts about clothing, and clothing anthropology.
