Jazz and Cuban music show in tribute to the Buena Vista Social Club, with Evelyn Dupuy and Daniel Lopez Montejo. It will take place at Shamayim.
Cuban singer Evelyn Dupuy, one of the voices most closely identified with the soul of deep Cuba, comes to Hot Jazz with a special tribute performance to Buena Vista Social Club—the project that brought the magic of Cuban son, bolero, and cha-cha back to the world.
Joining her will be singer Daniel Lopez Montejo, an artist with deep Cuban roots. Together, their voices will bring the harmony, warmth, and authenticity of traditional music to the stage. They will be accompanied by a Cuban instrumental ensemble, giving the performance Havana’s full sound.
Also performing will be Fernando Knopf (electric bass), who is also the musical director and one of the leading figures in Israel’s Latin music scene.
The performance will feature beloved classics from Buena Vista Social Club, including:
An evening full of soul, rhythm, and longing—a true Cuban celebration that brings the Buena Vista spirit back to the stage in full force!
