Arik Einstein and the Israeli Rock Revolution
A journey following in Arik Einstein’s footsteps. A fascinating documentary-musical journey into the work of one of the pillars of Israeli identity. The lecture will focus on the 1960s and 1970s—the first half of the musical career of one of Israel’s greatest singers.
We will begin with his first steps in the Nahal troupe, the Yarkon Bridge, the High Windows, and the Lool group, as well as his partnership with Uri Zohar and his career as a theater and film actor. We will continue to the dramatic years of his meeting with Shalom Hanoch and the Churchills, which led to the creation of Israeli rock, and conclude with his work with Miki Gavrielov, which produced landmark albums.
