Single-Performance Purchase — Starting 12/10/26
A comedy about the loss of identity: After his mother dies at an advanced age, it becomes clear to Or Ausland, a literature teacher, almost by chance... that she was not Jewish. What initially appears to be a bureaucratic error soon becomes a fact that shakes the foundations of his family and life. Is some closely guarded secret hidden in his mother’s past, or is this simply a mistake? Or embarks on a wild journey that begins at a rabbinical authority clerk’s office and reaches its climax in a séance with his mother’s spirit, in order to establish his true identity.
A new madcap comedy by Daniel Lapin (“Four Mothers,” “Between Holiness and Holon,” “Zehu Ze”), about the most unexpected identity crisis in the life of someone who has never doubted his identity.
