Atara Frish is a director and screenwriter, a graduate of Tel Aviv University’s film school, who in recent years has become a respected creator in Israel’s television industry. In 2020, she created and directed the series The Commander for the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation’s Kan 11. The series achieved great success with audiences and critics, aired for three seasons, and received widespread recognition.
Her subsequent work, All Mothers Lie (2026), which she co-created and directed, also received extensive praise for its writing and its portrayal of complex female characters unlike those previously seen on screen.
As part of International Domestic Violence Prevention Month, Atara Frish will take part in a fascinating meeting offering a glimpse behind the scenes of the television world. The meeting will present a new and different perspective on development and directing processes, and will explore how stories about women, relationships, and family find their place on screen.
Through complex characters and human stories, we will touch on the places where relationships, power, control, and violence intersect—and on the importance of giving a voice and a story to what is not always visible from the outside.
