Gamla Nature Reserve - Vulture Month
A vulture tour at Gamla Nature Reserve on Fridays, Saturdays, and October 27, at 10:30, 12:00, and 13:30. The activity focuses on the dangers facing vultures and their rescue.
Gamla is the most beautiful reserve in the Golan. It contains impressive Golan landscapes, a nesting colony home to a variety of birds of prey, a hair-raising historical story, and a legend about the discovery of the site that will inspire every nature- and history-loving traveler and adventurer.
The vulture colony in the reserve is in grave danger: approximately 90% of the Golan’s vultures have died over the past twenty years, primarily from repeated poisoning.
This coming October, the reserve’s rangers and guides invite you to a tour of the reserve to discover what is harming the vultures, how they can be saved, and why we will never give up on the king of birds 🦅
When: Friday, October 23; Tuesday, October 27; and Saturdays, October 24 and 31, at 10:30, 12:00, and 13:30.
