Voting and Hiking – From the Tzama Snake Cisterns to Mitzpe Ramon

Election Day is a wonderful opportunity to get out into nature, before or after voting. We’ll take a short drive along the Nefha Stream route, heading toward the edge of the Tzinim Cliff, and then, suddenly—after a somewhat challenging descent along a trail that seems to lead nowhere—they will appear before us: the Tzamei Nachash reservoirs. Two mysterious openings on the mountainside. A must-see site for anyone who hasn’t visited! It’s time to turn on your headlamps—what awaits at the end of the tunnel?

After satisfying our accumulated curiosity, we’ll climb back up and continue along the Oil Route to Ma’aleh Sharav: a long, excellent, rocky descent. Just before descending into the crater, we’ll turn toward the crater rim and take a look at the legendary Ma’aleh Mahmal, which is no longer in use. Along the stream trails to Sculpture Road, for views of the crater and Sculpture Road, we’ll finish at the entrance to Mitzpe Ramon.
