A man who turns into a nightingale, flies away, and sings a sweet and sorrowful song… A man on the brink of despair, pleading with the winds and streams to carry his sighs and suffering! And a nymph who turns into reeds and regains her voice in her new form as a flute.

These stories and more come to life in the performance “Nature, the Voice of Man.”

Since time immemorial, nature has served as a mirror and extension of human emotion. But as the modern world distances us from nature, we increasingly lose this vital connection. We lose part of our own voice. And although it often seems that we are the ones giving nature a voice, trying to save it from the damage we ourselves cause, the Baroque repertoire is filled with stories in which the opposite is true: nature gives voice to man.

In “Nature, the Voice of Man,” the Nari Ensemble explores these stories through a variety of musical styles and languages, combining tragedy and comedy and bringing original theatrical texts together with historical repertoire. This is a colorful musical journey that invites the audience to dive into the depths of the relationship between man and nature, ending with the inevitable question: What do we lose when the natural world ceases to be part of our lives?
