Trip Program

09:00 | Meeting and introductory briefing

Meeting point: The courtyard of the Little Mizra Museum.

Gathering, a brief safety briefing, and an explanation of the day’s route.

Stop 1: The Cotton Field

A visit to a spectacular cotton field.

An explanation of how cotton is grown, an introduction to the different types of cotton, and learning about the journey cotton takes from the field to clothing.

Stop 2: The Beet Field

A tour of a beet field.

An explanation of cultivation methods, the seed cycle, and the harvesting season.

Stop 3: The Valley Railway Bridge

Climbing to the observation bridge above the route of the historic Valley Railway.

Fascinating stories about the Valley Railway and its role in the development of settlement and agriculture in the area.

Stop 4: Wading in a Spring

A stop at a nearby, clear spring for refreshment, rest, and wading in the cool water.

Stop 5: End at Megiddo Airstrip

Arrival at the finishing point at Megiddo Airstrip, an observation stop, and a summary of the experience.

Required equipment: Plenty of water (enough for at least three hours), clothing and shoes suitable for wading in water, plus a towel and a change of clothes, a hat, and sunscreen.

Cost: 20 NIS per participant | 50 NIS per private vehicle.
