World Premiere | Vertigo Dance Company
The new work by Noa Wertheim and Rena Wertheim Koren of the Vertigo Dance Company is a sensory-physical journey into the heart of one of the most elusive and profound concepts: time.
It is an attempt to decipher the pulse of the world and the pulse of the individual, the constant tension between the perishable body and eternity’s desire to remain.
The work’s title is based on three goddesses from Roman and Greek mythology who weave the thread of every person’s life. Like them, time is repeatedly unraveled and rewoven in the dance—measured, stretched, cut, and formed.
Extreme events such as those we have experienced in recent years lead us to ask how we will live our time, and what presence means within a changing reality.
“Nona” is a work about time—but also an invitation to stop. To listen. To move. To understand that time eludes us, yet is also the only thing placed in our hands. Just like a thin thread that can be pulled, unraveled, and mended again and again.
