A series of cooking workshops and communal dining in Nevatim, from October 14 to December 2, 2026. Chefs and food scientists are taking part in the six-session program.
Coming to the Veterans’ Club in Moshav Nevatim
Six sessions, one table. Chefs from the elite culinary community and food scientists are coming straight to you.
The Veterans’ Club, in collaboration with Negev FoodLab at Ben-Gurion University, is bringing you a unique program in the Negev:
A series of cooking workshops with chefs Eyal Lavi and Ruth Oliver, along with guest chefs from Israel’s new culinary scene—together with researchers and developers at the forefront of food science and its impact on physical and mental health.
This is not a cooking course. It is not a nutrition lecture. It is something completely different.
Each workshop begins at 17:00 and ends with a shared meal—you cook, you eat, and you take home something you did not expect.
The program is held in collaboration with Negev FoodLab at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, allowing participants to take part in innovative research examining the effects of cooking and shared meals on quality of life.
Participation in the research is, of course, voluntary—but this is a rare opportunity to contribute to knowledge that will affect many people far beyond our table.
The program is intended for people who love good food, are curious about what they put in their mouths, and are willing to spend one evening a week around a table that feels a little different.
Starting after the holidays. Six sessions.
The opening session will take place on Wednesday, October 14.
October 21, October 29, November 4, November 12, November 18, December 2
Subsidized cost for all sessions: 150 NIS
