The great novels are not merely unforgettable stories—they are keys to understanding the human being, society, and the era in which they were written, and at times it even seems that they speak to us more powerfully דווקא today. In a new Zoom series, we will embark on a marvelous journey among the peaks of the art of the novel in different languages and cultures, together with leading lecturers: Haim Be’er, Halit Yeshurun, Roy Chen, Yuval Plotkin, and others. At each meeting, we will delve into one novel, discover the story of its writing, uncover its literary secrets, and ask what makes a book a masterpiece that crosses generations and borders and reaches us.
