Classic Drawing Lesson: “Size to Size” Method
Want to learn how to transfer exactly what the eye sees onto paper? Come learn the classic measuring method every artist should know and apply it using pencil, charcoal, or pen.
Have you ever wondered how artists manage to copy objects so realistically and accurately? The answer lies in the classical foundations of drawing.
In this lesson, I teach the “Size to Size” method—a classic measuring technique that brings order to observation. Together, we will learn how to measure the object in front of us correctly, understand proportions, and work with shading to create volume, depth, and three-dimensionality on paper.
The real magic of this method is that once you understand the process, you gain the foundation for everything.
The lesson takes place in an “open studio” format at my studio in Kfar Truman.
What does this mean? You come to focus on drawing and measurements, while other participants in the studio may be working on different techniques, such as watercolors. I move between everyone, personally guide and support you step by step, and demonstrate the technique up close, so each person receives exactly the instruction they need, at their own pace.
