Memorial ceremony and lecture on the battle for consciousness in the Middle East on October 7, 2026, at the Kfar Shmaryahu Auditorium. After the ceremony: community singing.
Almog Boker was called up to cover the events of October 7, so in his place we will host Col. Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic-language spokesperson.
The lecture focuses on the battle for public consciousness in the Middle East and on how the IDF communicates directly with the Arab public through the media, social networks, and humor.
Avichay Adraee will also discuss the media challenges since October 7: conveying messages during wartime, the struggle over the narrative,
and the impact of Israeli messages throughout the Arab world.
Almog Boker, Channel 12’s southern correspondent and commentator on “Friday Studio,” a resident of Kibbutz Zikim near the Gaza border and a father of three, will speak about life before Hamas’s murderous attack, the day that will never be forgotten, and the future: Is it truly possible to destroy Hamas, and what needs to happen for the residents of the Gaza border communities to return home?
At the end of the ceremony, the audience is invited to a sing-along on the lawn at Weil.
