The “Open Spaces” Festival of the Israel Land Authority and the Society for the Protection of Nature invites you to discover the bird park at Ma’agan Michael!

A spectacular natural gem that attracts migratory birds and water-loving wildlife.

Join us for a fascinating guided tour of the new bird park at Ma’agan Michael.

We will tour the restored fishponds and birdwatching hides, getting an up-close look at the birds, butterflies, and unique vegetation of the area.

We will begin with a view of the kurkar ridge, the fishponds, and the seashore, and hear the story of the draining of the Kabara Marshes and the establishment of the fishponds. From there, we will set out on a walking tour between the fishponds. We will learn about the restoration efforts currently underway and the establishment of the bird park on the site of the fishponds, with support from the Israel Land Authority’s Fund for the Preservation of Open Spaces.

We are at the beginning of the migration season to Africa! We will observe a variety of birds and learn about their habits.

The tour will include activities for children and families—it will be fascinating!

A visit to the park allows everyone, at any age, to catch a glimpse of nature’s beauty, understand the complexity of natural processes, and enjoy the beauty of efforts to preserve the local environment.
