The Israel Land Authority and Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel’s Walking into the Open Festival invite you on a tour of the flowing spring at Tzippori!
Horse Spring is a refreshing spot in nature, near Tzippori Stream.
The long Tzippori Stream drains the Nazareth Mountains westward and flows into the Mediterranean Sea. In the past, it was a rushing stream that flowed year-round, as evidenced by the flour mills that operated in the area.
Over time, following extensive pumping and the discharge of sewage, the stream became an uninviting place. In recent years, after extensive rehabilitation, the construction of an accessible promenade, and the stream’s cleanup, it has become a welcoming place for local residents to enjoy a pleasant, wet outing at a clean spring along a convenient and beautiful route.
Our peaceful and beautiful route begins at a clear, abundant spring called Horse Spring and continues to the sound of the babbling stream downstream to the Monks’ Mill. While the children play on the grass, we will learn about the fascinating history of the site.
Join us for a wonderful outing alongside the stream and spring!
