In honor of International Wader Day, we invite you to a special tour where we will meet waders up close—one of the most fascinating, impressive, and skilled families of birds in the world.

Waders are nature’s undisputed migration champions.

On their incredible journeys, they cross tens of thousands of kilometers from one end of the globe to the other, with our wetland and coastal habitats serving as critical and essential refueling and resting stations for the continuation of their journey.

During the tour, we will set out to search for the various charming representatives of this family in the field, at the fishponds of Ma’agan Michael.

We will learn about their remarkable way of life, understand the enormous challenges they face throughout their long journey, and discuss the immense importance of conserving the seashores and streams that enable them to continue migrating.

This is a fascinating tour of nature, sea breezes, and inspiring survival skills, suitable for nature lovers, birdwatchers, and families who want to discover the secrets of the water’s edge.

Come breathe in the clean sea air, enjoy the magical estuary views, and meet the great migrants of the bird world!
