A walking tour of Nahariya along the seashore, historical sites, the water tower, and an ancient Canaanite temple. The route begins and ends at the Sail at the mouth of the Ga’aton Stream. The tour takes place on Fridays and lasts approximately two and a half hours. During the trial period, participation is free of charge.
The tour sets out from the Sailboat landmark at the mouth of the Ga'aton River.
Participants walk along the beachfront promenade, enjoying the scent of the sea and the refreshing breeze, until they reach the monument commemorating the members of the Zarankin family, a place that preserves a moving and poignant human story.
The route continues into the heart of the city, to historic Balfour Street, where the story of the first school is revealed, bearing witness to the community’s and the city’s first steps in education.
From there, the tour crosses the Ga'aton River and climbs to the Water Tower, Nahariya’s undisputed symbol.
The tour then follows the ancient shoreline toward a mysterious Canaanite temple, a fascinating remnant of an ancient people who lived in the area thousands of years ago.
