Artist-in-Residence Program for Musicians in Primary Schools Across the City. Professional musicians are invited to participate in community and educational work by creating musical encounters with students. The activity includes live concerts and listening sessions at the school.
The Department of Primary Education and the Planning and Development Department are pleased to announce a unique project for professional musicians in schools. We are looking for musicians who are interested in taking part in community and educational activities within primary schools and who believe in and wish to create an authentic and meaningful encounter with live music, creation, and listening for children.
Role of the Artist in School:
Conduct eight hours of weekly activities in the school during the academic year. The activities will create a continuous musical encounter and experience in the school's daily life through: building a school ensemble, preparing for live concerts, and listening sessions. Throughout the year, meetings will be held with the school staff, the guidance team, and the community of musicians from various schools.
The activity in the school is open to thoughts, ideas, and any unique adaptation between the artist and the selected school to create an organic connection and close, simple, and connecting meeting with music in the students' everyday lives.
