Explore the ancient ruins and nature of Tel Lachish at twilight. Learn about the wildlife's activity during the last light and discover the site's story through a fascinating guide. The tour concludes with a viewpoint of the Shephelah landscapes.
In the last hours of daylight, the mound is painted a different color that highlights the antiquities and surrounding nature. During the tour, we'll hear and see what happens when day turns to night. What do the wildlife do at the last light, and do they visit the mound when we aren't there? We'll begin the tour with a presentation telling the mound's unique story, then climb the mound (an easy climb) and engage with fascinating guidance to learn about the findings that teach us the place's history and the adaptation to darkness in nature. We'll continue walking between the paths of the mound, get to know the gate, the palace, and the "tree of demons," and enjoy an interesting illustration array. We'll end the tour at last light, overlooking the landscapes of the Shephelah and the vineyards.
When: Sunday, August 23, from 17:30 to 19:30.
