Winter Funerals — a Sad Comedy by Hanokh Levina
One of the sharpest and most sarcastic comedies by Hanokh Levina, accompanied by endless songs about love. Lachek’s mother has died. He is about to inform his relatives and arrange a dignified funeral. They, however, are busy preparing the wedding of their younger daughter Volutsia, which is scheduled for the next evening. Both sides understand that a wedding and a funeral cannot take place simultaneously. But how can you “dump four hundred guests and eight hundred chickens” ordered for the celebration just for the funeral? From this point on begins a frantic, humorous, and twist‑filled chase: the family does everything possible to avoid the news of the death that a desperate Lachek tries to deliver.
