A children’s musical about a band of insects in the Land of Oz, on February 9, 2027, at 5:30 PM in Acre. A colorful show with original songs and a message about friendship and self-confidence.
“The Buggies on a Journey to Oz” is a musical play for children that combines insect characters with the classic story of The Wizard of Oz.
The story focuses on the insect band “The Buggies” and their singer, Perla, who are swept into a magical world following a storm caused by Nissim, the grocery-store owner. During their journey, the band members take on the roles of the iconic characters—the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Lion—in order to find the Wizard, who will grant them a brain, a heart, and courage.
Meanwhile, Debbie the bee and her agent, Baz, try to sabotage their journey so that Debbie can take Perla’s place as lead singer.
In the end, the heroes discover that the qualities they were seeking already exist within them, and they manage to return home while demonstrating friendship and forgiveness toward their rivals.
The play emphasizes messages of self-belief, cooperation, and the understanding that there is no place like home.
This is an experiential, colorful musical full of heart, reminding us all: sometimes we search for magic far away—but home, friends, and the heart are the real magic.
