The Israeli Children’s Theater is proud to present the wonderful story of The Giving Tree.
The story centers on the long-standing relationship and the tree’s great love for a boy, as well as its willingness to give of itself unconditionally. When the boy was young, he played with the leaves, climbed the trunk, ate the tree’s fruit, swung on its branches, and, whenever he grew tired, fell asleep in its shade.
But when he grew up, he stopped visiting the tree for a long time. Over the years, the boy returns to the tree as a teenager, an adult, and an elderly man. At every stage of his life, when the boy comes back to visit, he returns with different desires, but the tree continues to do everything in its power to make him happy.
Throughout its life, the tree gives of itself with great love, until it is left as a stump—but happy simply because it was able to give.
A magical and moving performance for children about unconditional love and the ability to sacrifice for another.
